BPG PRIVACY POLICY

Updated: October 10, 2022

THIS PRIVACY POLICY GOVERNS THE MANNER IN WHICH BOSTON PROPERTY GROUP, LLC ("BPG" OR “WE”) COLLECTS, USES, MAINTAINS AND DISCLOSES INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM USERS (EACH, A "USER" OR “YOU”) OF THE WEBSITE ("SITE"). THIS PRIVACY POLICY APPLIES TO THE SITE, ANY MOBILE APPLICATIONS OPERATED BY BPG, AND ALL OTHER PRODUCTS AND SERVICES OFFERED BY BPG. THIS PRIVACY POLICY DOES NOT APPLY TO OUR EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, OR APPLICANTS AND CANDIDATES FOR EMPLOYMENT OR NON-EMPLOYEE WORK WITH US.

In this Privacy Policy, our use of the term “personal identification information” includes other similar terms under applicable privacy laws – such as “personal data” and “personally identifiable information.” In general, personal information includes any information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is reasonably capable of being associated, linked, or linkable with a particular individual. We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways in connection with activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities such as:

Contact Forms:

When you use our contact forms to send us a message, the information you provide in the form is transmitted over the internet in a similar way to email. Using the contact form is optional and only intended for the convenience of our visitors. If you choose to use the contact form to communicate with us, the information you are asked to provide will only be used to contact you back, if requested, and will not be used for marketing purposes. A copy of the form will be stored on our servers for a 30-day period but may be deleted by our site administrator before that.

If you decide not to use our contact form, you may instead contact us directly at the email address or phone number listed on the Contact Page.

Comments:

Our website does not currently support commenting by visitors but may do so in the future.

When visitors leave comments on the site, we will save the data shown in the comments form, the commenter’s IP Address and their Browser User Agent String to help us implement effective spam detection methods.

An anonymized string created from the commenter’s email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if they are using it. Gravatar is a platform that enables its registered members to display their selected profile image or picture on other websites where users may decide to leave comments on. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of a comment, the commenter’s profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of their comment.

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

Performance Data:

Our website utilizes caching in order to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary and are never accessed by any third party. Cache files expire on a schedule set by our site administrator but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary.

We may use QUIC.cloud services to process and cache your data temporarily.
Please see https://quic.cloud/privacy-policy/ for more details regarding privacy practices.

Embedded Content From Other Websites:

Content on this site includes embedded content (e.g. videos, images, virtual tours, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website (e.g. Vimeo, YouTube, etc.).

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. View the privacy policies for Vimeo and YouTube for more information.

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance and deliver a better User experience. Users’ web browsers place cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert them when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

How Long We Retain Your Data:

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users’ personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.

We may also share personal and/or non-personal identification information when required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the personal safety of our affiliates or the public.

Certain laws require that we inform applicable individuals of the legal basis for our use and other processing or personal information. In addition to sharing personal and/or non-personal identification information when required by law or to protect personal safety, we may use or process personal identification information shared with us for the following reasons: to carry out the intent of our contract or agreement with you; in furtherance of our business interests, including, but not limited to, customer relationship management, marketing and advertising, fraud prevention, IT and network support services, IT and network security, internal investigations, and mergers, acquisitions, reorganization, and other business transactions; in the defense of our legal rights; and for reasons relating to auditing, reporting, internal governance, and internal operations.

BPG has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
